The same basket of 40 products: 268.55 zł at the cheapest chain, 344.44 zł at the most expensive

According to the “Koszyk Zakupowy” report by ASM SFA, in September 2026 researchers compared the prices of 40 everyday products — groceries, cosmetics and household chemicals — in 13 retail chains. The cheapest basket cost 268.55 zł on average and the most expensive 344.44 zł: a difference of 75.89 zł, or more than 28% of the price of the cheapest basket.

Auchan took first place. Biedronka and Lidl did not make the three cheapest, while the discounter Aldi came third. Netto turned out to be the most expensive, with an average basket of 344.44 zł. By format: Cash & Carry stores 308.71 zł, hypermarkets 311.35 zł, discounters 324.90 zł, supermarkets 332.98 zł.

The average basket across all chains came to 320.10 zł — 0.21% more than a month earlier but 0.91% less than in September 2025. Prices rose in eight of the thirteen chains; the biggest monthly increase was at Intermarché (+4.52%), while Aldi cut its average basket by 4.82%.
