The Sejm rejected motions to reject the draft 2027 budget: 237 deputies voted for further work, 198 against, five abstained. The document has gone to committees; the second reading is scheduled for 2 December, the third for 4 December, after which the budget will go to the Senate. The work is to finish in mid-January.
The draft assumes real GDP growth of 3% and average annual inflation of 2.8%. Budget revenue is 696.4 billion zloty, expenditure 977.6 billion. VAT is expected to bring 363.7 billion zloty, CIT 94.6 billion, PIT 33.4 billion.
198.1 billion zloty is earmarked for defence. Healthcare gets 274.1 billion, 26.3 billion more than in 2026; the subsidy to the National Health Fund (NFZ) will rise by 15.5 billion, to 41.5 billion zloty.
Public safety — police, Border Guard, firefighters and special services — is allotted 36.5 billion zloty, and 57.7 billion together with pensions of uniformed services.
