Refugees from Ukraine increased Poland's GDP by 2.4% in 2025, about 94 billion zloty (21.5 billion euros), the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) and Deloitte calculated. In 2024 it was 2.3%, and by 2035 Deloitte expects 2.8%.
The share of refugees in work rose from 61% in 2023 to 76% in 2025, slightly higher than among Polish citizens. At the same time, according to the report, their entry into the labour market did not reduce the employment and wages of other workers. Refugees more often than Poles work on less stable terms.
In 2025 almost a million refugees from Ukraine lived in Poland. The authors believe the real contribution is even higher: many, especially the better settled, changed refugee status to other forms of stay and do not appear in these statistics.
