Temporary residence permits (czasowy pobyt) are issued fastest in Małopolskie voivodeship, where a case takes 242 days on average. The longest wait is in Śląskie: 658 days. The figures come from a reply by deputy interior minister Maciej Duszczyk to a parliamentary question by MP Wioletta Kulpa; the document was highlighted by the Głos migranta initiative.
The process takes less than a year in six voivodeships: Małopolskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie (273 days), Podkarpackie (302), Dolnośląskie (303), Świętokrzyskie (325) and Wielkopolskie (339). In Mazowieckie, which includes Warsaw, applicants wait 394 days on average; in Lubelskie and Łódzkie 386 each, Podlaskie 447, Zachodniopomorskie 465, Opolskie 510, Kujawsko-Pomorskie 541.
Cases take more than a year and a half in Lubuskie (555 days), Pomorskie (598) and Śląskie (658). Compared with 2023, the wait fell only in Dolnośląskie, by 98 days. It grew most in Pomorskie: from 314 to 598 days.
The ministry says the longer waits are in some cases due to additional measures introduced to ensure state security.
