National team defender Norbert Wojtuszek of Białystok's Jagiellonia will miss the upcoming matches. The club said the player has an inguinal hernia. PZPN's first statement spoke of a strain of the hip adductor muscle.
Poland team doctor Dr Jacek Jaroszewski explained that an inguinal hernia usually develops gradually, over months, and its symptoms can resemble an adductor injury. The treatment was conservative. In the doctor's opinion, there is no basis to think that playing in the national team match caused the hernia.
The federation replied to journalist Przemysław Langier, who wrote that the footballer complained of pain at the camp and doubted the diagnosis. PZPN said it is firmly against unfounded doubts about the competence of the national team's medical staff.
