On Saturday, 10 October, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) announced a temporary suspension of operations at Lublin and Rzeszów airports. According to the agency, the decision was taken to ensure freedom of action for military aviation in Polish airspace.
The Operational Command of the Armed Forces had earlier said that, in connection with Russian strikes on western Ukraine, military aircraft are operating in Polish airspace. Ground air defence and radar reconnaissance systems have been placed on alert. The military described the actions as preventive.
The notice does not say how long the suspension will last and does not name specific cancelled or delayed flights. Passengers are advised to check notices from carriers and airports. The suspension itself, according to the military, does not mean an attack on Polish territory.
