Piotr Cichocki becomes double world champion at World Sailing Inclusion Championships

Piotr Cichocki won two golds at the World Sailing Inclusion Championships in Portimão, Portugal. He took first place in the Hansa 303 Single class and, together with his wife Joanna Cichocka, won the Double class. In the double, the Polish crew won 9 of 12 races.

The coach of the national team of the Polish Yachting Association (PZŻ), Grzegorz Prokopowicz, called these competitions among the most difficult: wind from 5 to 15 knots, racing in the city centre, a tidal difference of 3.5 metres.

In the single class, Olga Górnaś-Grudzień finished 9th, Michał Dżugan 12th and Tomasz Szychowiak 16th. The championship was described as a record in number of participants.
