From January 2027 local authorities may raise property tax: new maximum rates

From 1 January 2027 the maximum rates of the local property tax will rise: for residential buildings from 1.25 to 1.29 zloty per square metre of usable area, for other land, such as land next to houses, from 0.77 to 0.80 zloty. For buildings used for business activity the maximum will be 36.49 zloty per square metre instead of 35.53 zloty.

These are maximum values; the actual amount is decided by local authorities. For example: a 50 m² flat — up to 64.50 zloty a year for the living area; a 150 m² house — up to 193.50 zloty, a 200 m² house — up to 258 zloty. A 500 m² plot of other land — up to 400 zloty a year, 1,000 m² — up to 800 zloty.

According to the outlet, owners of large houses with plots may receive decisions for larger sums than owners of flats in blocks. The final sums depend on local authorities.
