Warsaw police run the Safe Warsaw operation: six wanted people detained

The capital's police carried out a large operation called Safe Warsaw (Bezpieczna Warszawa). Officers made 80 interventions, checked the documents of 315 people and inspected 53 vehicles. During database checks, six people who were wanted were detained and handed over to the judicial authorities.

Patrols worked near shopping centres, transport hubs, railway stations and popular markets. Traffic police tested 27 drivers for sobriety and issued 7 fines totalling 1,100 zloty. A check of drivers carrying passengers through mobile apps ended with 8 registration certificates being seized: the vehicles were defective.

Police also detained two men with drugs. According to the police, similar checks will take place regularly in Mokotów, Wola and the Śródmieście district.
