An application for the second stage of the Port Praski development, by one of the port basins, has been submitted to the Praga-Północ district office. Two residential complexes with 1,270 flats and ground-floor services are to be built under the lex deweloper procedure. Comments on the application can be submitted until 21 October.

In return the developer promises to build a sports hall for the school at 9 Sierakowskiego Street, renovate the school at 7 Jagiellońska, rebuild Kempna and Zamoyskiego streets and lay pavements and cycle paths through the green area towards Sokola and Wybrzeże Szczecińskie. According to the district office, tall trees along these streets will not be touched.

The first stage was 10 buildings with almost 900 flats on the Okrzei, Sierakowskiego and Krowia side; shops, a kindergarten and a post office already operate there, and a hotel is being made in a historic tenement on Okrzei.

District councillor Krzysztof Michalski (Porozumienie dla Pragi) says residents fear traffic jams most. Four office towers are planned later by the Stadion Narodowy metro station, after the city's general plan is adopted; work on it is delayed. The whole development, by his estimate, may take about ten years.
