Drone of a military institute from Zielonka fell onto a private plot near Warsaw

On Tuesday, 20 October, an unmanned aircraft fell onto a private plot in Józefów (Nieporęt commune, Legionowo county), warszawawpigulce.pl reports. Residents reported the fall, accompanied by a loud noise; speculation about a Russian drone appeared online.

According to Deputy Inspector Marta Sulowska of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police, the aircraft belonged to the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Zielonka. Institute staff lost contact with it during a training flight.

The drone was unarmed and used for training. Institute representatives arrived at the site and took the aircraft away. There were no injuries and no material damage.

Edyta Pietrzak-Waś, the village head of Józefów, said the situation was under control and there was no danger. The model and the cause of the lost contact have not been specified.
