In Brussels Tusk assures Zelensky: EU will not weaken sanctions against Russia

Prime Minister Donald Tusk met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels on the sidelines of the EU summit. According to RMF FM, Tusk said the EU has no reason to weaken sanctions against Russia.

Tusk told Zelensky: 'I am here to guarantee that to you.' He said Europe will not accept anything that could help Putin and Russia wage this war, and that financing the 'Russian war machine' is unacceptable. According to the prime minister, the decisions depend not only on Poland but on the whole EU.

Zelensky thanked Poland and the EU for their support and said Ukraine finds it very hard to defend itself against massive attacks. He said there are other matters the two of them need to discuss.
