Warsaw police have published interim results of the 'Quiet City' (Ciche Miasto) campaign, running since March 2026. Officers checked 4,592 vehicles and issued 3,382 fines worth more than 1.4 million zloty. 143 driving licences and 477 registration documents were withheld.

The campaign targets above all drivers of vehicles that make excessive noise, with dismantled or modified exhaust systems. Noise measurements were taken 104 times; in 76 cases registration documents were withheld over environmental violations. Not all fines relate to noise: drivers were also punished for speeding, aggressive driving and other offences.

The main checks take place in Srodmiescie and on busy streets in the city centre, carried out by patrols in both marked and unmarked cars. From March to October, 144 cases were sent for further proceedings, including to court. The police have not given an end date for the campaign.
