The number of police officers guarding schools has fallen by almost half. As an RMF FM reporter learned, 11.5 thousand officers went on duty this morning, compared with around 20 thousand a day last week. Police said the situation in schools has stabilised: no new incidents have been recorded and there have been no detentions either.
Since the operation began, almost 238 thousand checks of educational institutions have been carried out and 194 people have been detained. By six in the morning, 519 events had been registered in which police are conducting inquiries over a reasonable suspicion that prohibited acts were committed.
Over the past day, police noted not a single alarming signal online that required intervention; last week there were anywhere from several dozen to a few such signals a day. Officers are now focusing on prevention — talks with pupils about safety and cybersecurity — while the physical security of schools remains the task of school principals.
