Knife attack at a school on Mińska Street: 21-year-old woman charged

A 21-year-old student at a school on Mińska Street in Warsaw attacked a 17-year-old girl with a knife, according to police. The girl was taken to hospital with cut wounds to the forearm. Two more women, aged 17 and 24, were also injured and did not need hospitalisation. The victims were not students at the school; they had come to submit documents.

Prosecutors charged her with five offences: attempted murder of three people, violating the bodily integrity of a female police officer, and threats. The court ordered three months of pre-trial detention.

Police cannot yet confirm a link between the attack and other cases of violence in schools that occurred in recent days in Mazovia. Prime Minister Donald Tusk held an urgent meeting with ministers and services.
