Man with a canister of fuel tried to get into a building housing ministries on Nowy Świat street

As an RMF FM reporter has learned, an elderly man with a canister of fuel tried to get into a building on Nowy Świat street in Warsaw that houses several ministries. The police were called by a security guard: a man who was behaving strangely and was difficult to reason with was trying to get inside.

He was wearing a motorcycle helmet and had with him a 5-litre container of an unknown substance; a check showed it to be flammable. A police patrol and an ambulance arrived.

The 71-year-old man did not resist; accompanied by police officers, he was taken to hospital for examination. Police are investigating the motives behind his behaviour.
