Iga Świątek starts in Ningbo: psychologist Daria Abramowicz is back on the team

Iga Świątek is already in Ningbo, where she will compete for important points in the WTA Race rankings. Footage from Ningbo shows that psychologist Daria Abramowicz has rejoined the team: she was absent from the tournaments in Beijing and Wuhan, which the player’s PR manager Dorota Krzewińska explained by a team schedule agreed in advance.

The support may come in handy after a difficult end to the Wuhan tournament: in the semi-final Świątek lost to Maja Chwalińska 5-7, 1-6 and finished the match with a leg problem.

In Ningbo Świątek is seeded second and has a first-round bye; her first opponent is Marie Bouzkova. The tournaments in Ningbo and then Tokyo will decide whether she reaches the season-ending WTA Finals; even before the Asian part of the season she said that fighting for qualification right to the end was extra motivation.
