Gonçalo Feio spent almost 15 years building his career in Poland and makes no secret of wanting to return in a new role. In an interview with the portal Noticias ao Minuto, the Portuguese said he is interested in the post of head coach of the Poland national team: “One day I would definitely like to try. Poland is a country I will always be connected with.”

The 36-year-old coach added that whenever the national team changes its manager, his name comes up in the discussions and, in his view, some fans would like to see him in the job.

Feio came to Poland for half a year and stayed almost 15 years: he started with Legia Warsaw’s youth teams, worked as the club’s analyst, was an assistant at Wisła Kraków and Raków Częstochowa, and got his first head-coaching job at Motor Lublin, which he led from II liga up to I liga. His biggest success is the Polish Cup with Legia in the 2024/25 season; he also worked with Legia in European competitions. He says he learned Polish and tried to get to know the country’s history and culture.
