Strawińska and Castro win silver at the European Para Fencing Championships

The European Para Fencing Championships are being held in Cardiff until Sunday. Poland have already won two silvers: Karolina Strawińska in women's épée, category B, and Adrian Castro in men's sabre in the same category.

For Strawińska it is the fourth medal of the tournament and the first individual one. In the semi-final she beat Italy's Giulia Anna Markowska 15-14. Both athletes are from Warsaw's Legia: in the quarter-final Strawińska beat her club colleague Sara Rogowska 15-8.

Adrian Castro is a bronze and silver medallist of the Paralympic Games and the reigning European champion. At this championship he also won silver.
