Ski season on Górka Szczęśliwicka in doubt

The renovated slope in Ochota was due to open at the end of November, but much of the work is not done. On the left, where a covered conveyor-belt lift is to be, there is only gravel so far; on the right the poles of a drag lift are already standing, but there is no artificial surface. At the bottom of the slope are pallets of building materials, and the exit from the main building to the slope is closed.

In August the city terminated the contract with the main contractor, and a new one has still not been chosen. Bartłomiej Stempień, deputy director of Stołeczne Centrum Sportu “Aktywna Warszawa”, says the inventory of completed work is finished and a new contractor will be chosen under public procurement rules.

The operator does not guarantee that the facility will open this season.
