Two 15-year-olds detained near Warsaw over videos with death threats

Police officers from Pruszków detained two 15-year-old residents of the Pruszków powiat who, according to the Capital Police, posted on social media videos with threats to take other people's lives. Police warn that the authors of such recordings must reckon with serious consequences.

This is not the only case in recent hours. On Friday morning police in Szczytno detained a 16-year-old who filmed and spread a video threatening an attack on a school, “as a joke”, according to him. On Thursday evening in the Przasnysz powiat a 17-year-old was detained, the probable author of an AI-generated video with threats against a lyceum in Przasnysz. Police do not yet confirm that he is the author.

The National Police Headquarters said there are so far no signs that a “challenge” involving school attacks exists. Officers across the country, above all the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, are monitoring signals online.
