Warsaw city hall has announced the reopening date of the Tęcza cinema on Suzina Street in Żoliborz: the first events will take place on the weekend of 28–29 November 2026. The opening programme is being prepared by the Andrzej Wajda Film Culture Centre; details are promised in the coming weeks.

The building was erected in 1929 as the central heating boiler house of the Warsaw Housing Cooperative (WSM) estate. In 1933 it was converted into a theatre hall, and regular film screenings began a year later. The cinema operated until 1989; in the 1990s the building was used by the Akademia Ruchu artists and then gradually fell into disrepair.

The renovation began in September 2024 and was completed in July 2026. It was financed by the city with a contribution from the Mazowieckie voivodeship. The projection booth holds a Victoria projector by Italy's Cinemeccanica: the manufacturer revived a discontinued series to build two units ordered by the cinema.

Besides the auditorium, the building has educational spaces, an editing room and infrastructure for online broadcasts. Workshops, meetings with filmmakers, debates, small concerts and open-air screenings in the courtyard are planned.
