Warsaw University of Technology has signed a contract to build a sports centre next to the Syrena stadium, at the back of the Stodoła club and the Warsaw School of Economics building on Batorego Street. Eight firms bid in the tender, with prices from 168 to 251 million zloty. All exceeded the university's budget, which was below 100 million zloty. The university chose the cheapest, Mirbud.

The hall is designed primarily for academic sport: three courts, including for basketball and volleyball, and stands for more than one and a half thousand people. It is multifunctional: drawings show options with a boxing ring or a stage. The building will stand above the tunnels of the first metro line, so the contractor must carry out expert assessments and geotechnical surveys and protect the metro infrastructure.

The work is allotted 2 years and 3 months. For 168 million zloty, Mirbud must prepare the design documentation and carry out all construction work, including roads, pavements and parking.
