The Ceny Paliwa Niżej (CPN) package lowers inflation by 1 percentage point every month, Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka told the Sejm. According to him, the estimate was made by “independent analytical centres”.

This year the government will direct almost 10 billion zloty to lowering fuel prices. Part of the sum will be covered by the windfall tax on fuel companies. President Karol Nawrocki signed the law on it on 1 October and at the same time referred it to the Constitutional Tribunal. Motyka said that because of the blocking of the previous version of the law, drivers lost 1.5 billion zloty in September.

According to the minister, over the weekend representatives of the ministry will hold talks in Saudi Arabia, which accounts for 50% of oil supplies to Poland. According to GUS's preliminary estimate, prices rose by 4.0% year on year in September.
