From the December timetable, PKP Intercity wants to run about 600 trains a day, almost 70 more than now. Some are new routes, some are more frequent services on existing ones. From June 2027 a direct Warsaw–Łomża train is promised, 6 pairs a day.
At the same time PKP PLK is starting the rebuild of Warszawa Wschodnia and Warszawa Stadion stations: the contract with Torpol is almost 3 billion zloty net, with works on the official schedule from the end of 2026 to the end of 2029. Almost 1,000 trains a day currently pass through Wschodnia.
All 7 platforms will be rebuilt, with new canopies, escalators and 14 lifts, and a viaduct more than 1.6 km long. The head of PKP Intercity warns that construction may affect train punctuality.
