The 42nd Warsaw International Film Festival will show 190 films in 330 screenings, with meetings with filmmakers, Q&As and special events. The main venues are Kinoteka in the Palace of Culture and Atlantic on Chmielna.

The main competition has 15 films; the jury will award the Grand Prix of the President of Warsaw, a prize for directing and a special prize. Poland is represented by “Cudze rzeczy” by Grzegorz Dębowski, about a young woman who with her boyfriend breaks into other people's flats and in one of them begins to try on a different life, and “Przez ścianę” by Maciej Sobieszczański: two young prisoners from the era of Stalinist terror talk through a wall in Morse code. The script is based on real events.

Tickets for the first two screenings of “Przez ścianę” are already sold out.
