Legionowo closes two primary schools on Friday: they “turned out to be on a list” linked to an online challenge

The authorities of Legionowo decided to close primary schools No. 3 and No. 7 as a precaution on Friday, 9 October. According to City Hall, these schools “turned out to be on a list” linked to a dangerous online challenge. The services have not confirmed this information; the city stresses that it is acting preventively.

Legionowo's other schools are working as usual. On 9 October police and municipal guard patrols will be on duty at each of them, and surveillance of all schools will be stepped up. City Hall asks people to stay calm and use only verified sources.

Police are checking whether the attacks at schools in Ostrołęka and Leszczydół-Nowiny are connected to a social media challenge. The Pułtusk powiat also closed schools for Friday.

Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński said on TVN24 that the Chief of Police ordered an increase in the number of patrols at schools across the country.
