IBRiS, commissioned by “Rzeczpospolita”, asked Poles whether President Karol Nawrocki should meet Vladimir Putin at the December G20 summit in Miami. 63.5% of respondents are against such a meeting, almost 30% think the Polish president should meet the Russian leader, and 6.8% are undecided.
Professor Arkady Rzegocki, a former Polish ambassador in London and Dublin, told the paper that most Poles clearly judge Russian aggression against Ukraine and the threat Russia poses to the region. That about a third allow a meeting can, in his words, be explained by the conviction that channels of communication should be kept open even with an adversary.
The poll was conducted on 2–3 October 2026 by telephone (CATI method) and included 1,072 people.
