Signing Robert Lewandowski has boosted attendance in Chicago. The club now has a chance to set a single-season attendance record, according to sportowefakty.wp.pl, citing the meninred97.com portal.
In the last two home matches, against Vancouver Whitecaps and New York City FC, more than 31,000 fans filled the stands. According to meninred97.com, since the contract was signed, attendance at every home match at Soldier Field has been higher than before. Such full stands were previously seen almost only at matches with Inter Miami and Lionel Messi, or on special occasions.
Three home matches remain this season: against Philadelphia (15 October), Orlando City (29 October) and Columbus Crew (7 November). To break the all-time record at the Philadelphia match, 25,759 fans are needed. Since 2020 there have been ten matches with more than 30,000 spectators, and five of them took place this season.
