Police: almost 50,000 institutions checked, 76 people detained

On Saturday morning police wrote on the social network X that operations to ensure the safety of children, teenagers and staff of educational institutions are continuing across Poland. Almost 50,000 institutions have been checked. By 6 a.m., 231 incidents had been recorded in which officers are acting on suspicion of a criminal offence. 76 people have been detained.

According to TVN24 reporter Paweł Łukasik, police are focused on what is happening online. Most often these are teenagers aged 10–17. He clarified that these are not detentions “in the procedural sense”: most are sent home, except the most serious cases. Each case will be examined separately by police and the family court.

The cause was the attacks in Ostrołęka on Wednesday and in Leszczydół-Nowiny on Thursday.
