Maximum fuel prices from Tuesday: Pb95 at 6.79 zł, diesel at 7.97 zł per litre

The energy minister has published a new notice on maximum fuel prices. On Tuesday, 20 October, a litre of 95 petrol may cost no more than 6.79 zł, 98 petrol 7.56 zł and diesel 7.97 zł.

The previous notice applied from Saturday to Monday: 6.89 zł per litre of Pb95, 7.68 zł for Pb98 and 8.00 zł for diesel.

The maximum price notice is part of the third version of the government package Ceny Paliwa Niżej. The mechanism started after part of the law on the windfall tax on fuel companies came into force. The president signed the law and at the same time referred it to the Constitutional Tribunal for ex-post review.

The fine for not applying the maximum prices can reach 1 million zł. According to the government, the whole support package is to run until the end of the year.
