Eight judges of the Constitutional Tribunal elected by the Sejm in the current term issued a statement. Among the signatories is Maciej Berek, who recently took the oath in the Sejm. They say that inviting only three of the eight judges to the Presidential Palace is 'an arbitrary attempt at selecting Tribunal judges by President Karol Nawrocki'.

The judges demand that all of them be admitted to work without delay. In their view, the Constitution and the act on the status of Tribunal judges do not give the president the right to 'receive' the oath: it is taken before the president, but he plays no active role in it. The judges say that for more than seven months the work of the Tribunal has been blocked by its chair, Bogdan Święczkowski.

The judges pledged to take all actions provided for by law. They also wrote that the judges who were not invited had repeatedly asked to be allowed to take the oath and had declared in writing that they would appear at the time set by the president. According to them, no reply to these letters followed.
