In the Marsh CFA Institute Global Pension Index 2026, Poland ranked 38th among 55 countries with a score of 58.4 points out of 100 — a year earlier it was 36th with 57 points. This is the best result since 2011, when Poland was first included in the study; its grade remains “C”. The Netherlands lead (85.8), followed by Denmark, Iceland and Singapore; Argentina comes last (43.7).
By sub-index: adequacy (weighted 40%) — 60.2 points, an improvement; integrity — 73.3, the biggest progress (quality of regulation, supervision and protection of members); sustainability (weighted 35%) — 45.6, slightly worse than last year: this is the ability to finance payouts in the long term as the population ages.
The authors recommend that Poland increase employee participation in PPK (Employee Capital Plans), develop voluntary savings in IKE and IKZE accounts, strengthen minimum support for the poorest pensioners and encourage work beyond retirement age, including combining work with a partial pension.
